Tanita Tikaram’s 1988 debut album, Ancient Heart produced two hits ‘Twist in My Sobriety’ and ‘Good Tradition’. Now she’s back with a new album and tour and we were lucky enough to see her at Prague’s Lucerna Music Bar.
This video covers a big chunk of the concert.
Tanita and her band were absolutely wonderful and all deserve a mention.
Helen O’Hara — Violin (formerly of Dexys Midnight Runners)
Marc Pell — Drums
Midori Jaeger — Cello and backing vocals, plus she sung May You Never (45.10 in the video)
The concert at Lucerna was November 1st 2025. The tour schedule is hectic.

Lucerna Music Bar
Lucerna music bar is more suited for dancing. There are hardly any seats – just one row along the balconies that look down onto the stage. The air is hot and heavy. It’s not the ideal venue for Tanita Tikaram, although the crowd seemed happy to stand and sway to the music.
The Lucerna cloakroom is efficient, but also a rip off at 40 Kč per checked item.
Vanua2
The support act ‘Vanua2’ were a good band, although with no real musical connection to Tanita’s pop/folk style.
