Guisborough is a market town situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Cookfella’s is a wine bar and restaurant with a menu that has something for everyone.

The Cookfella’s entrance is inviting.

And leads to a cosy summer courtyard.

The restaurant interior looks good. This was the view from our table.

Sometimes, you visit a restaurant and hardly anything on the menu appeals. The Cookfella’s menu was just the opposite – I would have gladly ordered any of the choices. The lunch menu is served to a generously late 4.30pm.

Our waiter was friendly and efficient. A pint of Guinness £5.10.

Chicken Saltimbocca 19.50
Breast of chicken wrapped in sage & Serrano ham, marinated in white wine and then pan roasted. Olive oil mashed potato, buttered kale, chicken, white wine & sage butter sauce.

Chicken parmo 16.95 plus added mushrooms £1.50 and ham hock £2.
A classic North-East dish. Panko crumbed chicken fillet, crispy fried and topped with béchamel sauce and our cheese blend.

Everything was delicious. I’d certainly recommend a visit to Cookfella’s.
