Just a short walk from Prague’s historic Old Town Square, Agora is a modern Greek restaurant hidden in a passage within the Stock Exchange building.
The restaurant is divided into two sections; indoor and outdoor. Both sections are really indoor, as you are in a covered passage.
The indoor section was a little too bright for us.
Plus, we wanted to be close to the excellent Lady & The Devil, singer and pianist outside.
As you can guess from the pictures, we visited on Valentine’s Day 2024. There was a special menu, but we ordered from the regular à la carte menu.
A 0.15l glass of reasonable house red 130 Kč, a 1l bottle of still water 130 Kč. I should have asked for tap water, but the guy on the next table shamed me by ordering champagne, while his girlfriend had a huge bunch of flowers put into a vase.
April 2024 update: A jug of tap water was free!
A huge plate of good Tzatziki (180 Kč) and pita bread (90 Kč).
Shrimp saganaki – roasted shrimps, fresh tomato sauce, Feta cheese, basil (395 Kč).
Keftedakia – beef meat balls, tomato sauce, Katiki Domokou cheese (290 Kč). These were so good that there was only one left when I remembered to take a picture.
Gemista – tomatoes and peppers stuffed with rice and herbs, pine nuts, yogurt (300 Kč).
Moussaka (395 Kč).
Everything was delicious. We shared all of the above dishes and were completely full. Our waiter was professional and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and modern. Agora is worth a visit and I hope they invite Lady & The Devil to play there again.
