Szarlotta offers good food just a few steps away from Poznań’s Old Town Square.
There are tables outside, although plenty of wasps, like the whole of Poznań in 2024.
We liked the small room at the back of the restaurant. The main restaurant was hotter and noisier – there are also tables downstairs and they seem to cater for groups there.
Our first visit was on a Friday night and there was a good live singer between the small back room and main restaurant.
A 0.5l carafe of a decent Sangiovese 35 zlotý. A carafe of water was 12 zlotý on Friday and 16 zlotý on Sunday, plus on Sunday we paid another 16 zlotý for a refill.
A delicious and tender, sous vide pork, tenderloin 48 zlotý.
Equally good was a sous vide chicken supreme 48 zlotý.
On the Sunday night we both had beef cheeks with beetroot and herb dumplings 59 zlotý. This was probably the best dish, but they did make us wait an hour for it! Slow service seemed typical in Poznań.
Government taxes of 23% and 8% appear at the bottom of the bill, but these appear to be for information only as the total matches the prices shown on the menu and the bill.
If you’re visiting Poznań, then Szarlotta is worth a visit and food worth the wait.
