n’Çarshi is one of several restaurants within Tirana’s Toptani castle walls and offers Albanian cuisine with a modern twist.

Prices correct as of April 2025. 100 Lek is around €1 or US$1.11.

A 0.4l local Pilsner beer 420 Lek. The staff were really friendly and spoke perfect English.

A classic Albanian pie (known as ‘byrek’ or ‘pite’) 680 Lek. With several layers of pastry and with two different fillings, these were really tasty.

Lamb chops with grilled potatoes 1200 Lek. Delicious.

Squid ink black ravioli filled with salmon 900 Let – another really tasty dish.

Grilled chicken breast with vegetables 680 Let. This was our first lesson from Albania – don’t order chicken! The chicken was really dry – the vegetables were lovely.

We enjoyed both our visits to n’Çarshi and would recommend this restaurant – just don’t order chicken and focus on lamb. On another day, we had a chicken korma and lamb rogan josh in the nearby Millenium Garden – the lamb was great, but they even managed to make dry chicken in a curry sauce!

Note that not all restaurants in the castle walk have their own toilets and you have to use shared facilities – n’Çarshi have their own toilet facilities.
