Freddy’s started in 2002 with a single restaurant in Wichita, Kansas and now has more than 400 locations. We visited the Ocala, Florida location.
The place feels more like a local burger place and the staff are always friendly – a bit like the West coast In’N’Out, even though both are chains.
Freddy’s burgers are pressed thin (some would call this a smash burger). Our favourite is the California Style double. Price for a combo (as of May 2025) is US$13.04. Sides can include fries, tater tots and onion rings.
The burgers are delicious.
The mini Turtle frozen custard (US $6.51) is a delight. I’m not sure how anyone manages to eat the full size version after the double burger.
If you’re looking for a good burger, Freddy’s is worth a visit.
