Mezalians is a lovely restaurant just a short walk from the riverside in Gdańsk. The pierogi are huge and there’s even a cigar lounge downstairs.
The interior is cosy. This is the view from the table (for two) just to the right of the entrance door.
Prices correct as of July 2025.
Our waiter was friendly, professional and spoke English.
A 0.5l local beer 20 zlotý, We chose beer because the wine by the glass seemed expensive and also didn’t state the size – we didn’t want to order an expensive glass of wine and find it was only a 0.125. A glass of Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky 64 zlotý.
The complimentary bread with lard was a great start to the evening.
The starters are really interesting and also really delicious.
Kohlrabi dumplings stuffed with lentils and fenugreek, pickled beet, pumpkin seed pesto (26 zlotý).
Breaded black pudding marinated apple in lemon / cider sauce (36 zlotý).
The duck pierogi were amazing and one portion is enough for two people to share. We were absolutely full, but couldn’t stop eating them (49 zlotý).
A 10% service charge is added to the bill and the waiter was kind enough to remind us of that.
I ventured downstairs to find more dining space and a door leading to a comfortable cigar lounge. The high cutting fee or minimum spend indicates that they really want customers to purchase cigars from their humidor.
We really enjoyed our visit to Mezalians and would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in Gdańsk.
