Hidden, in what was once the car park of Prague’s Falkensteiner Hotel, is a lovely cocktail bar/restaurant with an inviting summer terrace.

The crowd are a mixture of trendy locals and older Austrian tourists visiting Prague and staying at the hotel.

Prices correct as of August 2025.

A 1 litre bottle of filtered water 80 Kč. Staff were friendly and professional. Cocktails were expertly prepared.

A Pineapple & Culantro cocktail (Dark Rum, bubbles, coconut) 320 Kč.
A Mohito (white rum, lime juice, sugar, fresh mint leaves and soda water) 265 Kč.

From the tapas menu: Langoustine ravioli, foie gras sauce, buttered cabbage and truffle 550 Kč. You may think that is pretty expensive for two pieces of ravioli, but they were absolutely delicious.

All of the following dishes were amazing, but the ravioli remains the best.

From the tapas menu: Moroccan spring rolls, beef, couscous and harissa yoghurt dip 290 Kč.

From the main course menu: Cod, miso, mussel sauce and saffron 580 Kč. In the background, you can also see a Watermelon Margherita with ice cream 320 Kč.

Rice bowl, chickpeas, red curry, kimchi 430 Kč.

The ice cream survived until we’d finished our mains, but I’d recommend only ordering ice cream cocktails after dinner.

The terrace has a sliding roof and heaters for cooler, rainy weather. There’s also an inside bar.

The Monkey Bar is just a short walk from Prague’s main railway station, Hlavní nádraží and could be an ideal place to meet and impress someone arriving by train.
