Prague’s Lucerna Cafe Bar is perfectly located for anyone heading to Lucerna Music Bar, but it’s actually a worthwhile destination in its own right.
We needed somewhere close to Lucerna, where we saw the excellent Tanita Tikaram (review here) and booked a table in the upstairs bar.
The interior design of Lucerna Cafe Bar was created by Max Koreis and Roman Mareš and features metal-printed lights.
All the staff were friendly. Prices correct as November 2025.
A 0.15l glass of Primitivo 120 Kč. A 0.5l tap water 55 Kč.
The Smash Burger (180g beef, onion jam, bacon, cheddar, sriracha mayo and crunchy fries (315 Kč) was much better than we were expecting – a really good burger.
The bathrooms are down two flights of stairs. Halfway down is a another bar.
When we came to pay, our waitress asked cash or card and we chose card. When she returned with the card machine, she said they preferred cash. Fair enough that they are trying to avoid card fees I suppose.
We enjoyed our visit to Lucerna Cafe Bar and would return whenever we were going to the music bar. We left the music bar around 9.30pm and the cafe was busy with visitors drinking cocktails and the place had a lively, cool vibe.
