ABOVE Rooftop crowns the beautifully restored W Prague Hotel on Wenceslas Square. The views, cocktails and food are superb — expect prices to match the setting.

To ascend, enter the W Hotel, ignore the first elevator on the left, walk several metres until you find more elevators and take one up to the top floor. The beautiful bathrooms are on this floor.

Walk up a flight of stairs to find a cool space with views across Prague.

If you want the early evening sun, you’ll need to request a table at the front of the terrace.

If you want the shade, it’s at the back.

Mid-way and you’ll lose the sun by 7.15pm.

All the staff are friendly and professional. Prices correct as August 2026.

A classic Margarita 290 Kč. A Riviera Spritz (Rosé wine, Lillet Rosé, elderflower, verjus, neroli, Crémant Rosé, Perrier) 345 Kč.

The special was a delicious duck kebab with ratatouille 550 Kč.

From the regular menu, a fantastic Vitello Tonnato Tartare (veal tartare, tuna, mayonnaise, capers, homemade focaccia) 470 Kč.

We really enjoyed our visit. I also found a bargain hidden in the menu – a bottle of Primitivo, Rivera, Salento for 1250 Kč. Compare that to a 0.125 glass of house red at 260 Kč. That will keep you going until sunset!

When you leave, take the elevator down and spend some time admiring the rest of the hotel.

The W Lounge is amazing – although quiet until Above Rooftop closes.

The Fantastical Garden references the dream like illustrations of illustrious Czech artist Alphonse Mucha.

Le Petit Beefbar au Grand Café is a work of art.

And for drinks until 2am – there is Minus One.
