Bill’s is a chain restaurant offering good food at reasonable prices. We visited their location in Reading.
The interior is cosy and eclectic.
The staff were friendly and professional. Prices correct as of April 2026.
A 250ml glass of drinkable Sollazzo Rosso d’Italia £8.50. A carafe of tap water free – as in all of England.
The Heritage Dinner menu is available every day from 4pm and two courses are £26.95. We also had a voucher for 20% off – you need to register on their website and wait at least 24 hours to receive the voucher.
From the Heritage Menu starters: Crispy duck tossed in a smoky tomato salsa on a tostada with pickles & crumbled feta. Delicious!
From the Heritage Menu mains: Pan-fried seabass served on chive mashed potatoes & tenderstem broccoli. Served with a lemon butter sauce. Not excellent but pretty good.
£19.50 from the regular menu: Pan-fried seabass served with ancient grains & roasted butternut squash, tomato, caper & avocado salsa, lime & coriander. Not excellent but pretty good.
It’s weird how there are two variations of sea bass on different menus. Personally, I’d choose the one from the Heritage menu.
The 20% discount was applied to both food and drinks. An optional service charge of 12.5% was added.
We enjoyed our dinner at Bill’s and would recommend a visit if you are in Reading – I’m assuming the other locations are also of a similar standard.
