The Atrium Prestige is a beautiful, peaceful, luxury beachside resort, just over an hour’s drive from Rhodes airport. It really is a perfect place for a holiday.

The following video covers all the hotel in under ten minutes – if you want every last detail, then please continue reading.

Many seven night packages include a free return airport transfers. That’s well worth choosing as I would guess the trip would cost easily €100 each way. Our driver was waiting for us with a sign and drove us in a comfortable mini-van.

Glass of (real) champagne at a friendly check in and we were soon in a two-room family suite with ultra all-inclusive. Golf carts take guests to some rooms, but ours was walkable.

Two-bedroom, Sea-View Family Suite

The first bedroom had two kid-size beds, we asked, next day, for these to be made into a double and that was done immediately – always handy to have a spare bed for when I’m snoring!

The bathroom was well appointed, with plenty of towels. There was both a jacuzzi bath and shower. I’d like more hooks to hang towels, bathrobes and swimwear.

There was a window to main bedroom, but there is also a blind for privacy.

In the hall was a pod coffee machine, kettle, large safe, mini-bar, fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The bathrobes are on the small side.

The room mini-bar was complimentary and restocked each day. Note that the restocking is done separately from cleaning.

The main bedroom had a comfortable king bed, a comfortable chair and a dining table for two.

A bottle of wine, water and a fruit basket were left on the table.

The ‘smart’ television had Netflix, Prime, YouTube and other streaming services, although for paid services you would need to log in to your own account. Don’t forget to log out of your account when you leave – when we checked Netflix at home, we could see the next guests had watched a few shows we wouldn’t choose!

The terrace had two chairs and a table. The view to the pools and sea was beautiful.

On one day, Mickey and Minnie paid a visit.

The evening turn-down service was useful as new water bottles and biscuits were left.

The wi-fi was fast and reliable throughout the hotel, including the beach.

Ultra All-inclusive

If you have the ultra all-inclusive package, then pretty much everything is free. You can dine at the fine-dining restaurants, Asia and Thalassa, as much as you like as well as visit the other restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You will need to install the Atrium Hotels app, which is activated after you check in to the hotel. The app that allows you to order drinks and food to be delivered your beach, or pool, sunbed and make restaurant reservations.

There are a choice of wines, all good quality and perfectly drinkable – included as part of all-inclusive, as is bottled water.

Good quality cocktails and top-shelf drinks such as 14-year old Oban single-malt whisky, Hendrick’s gin and Diplomatico rum are all included as part of ultra all-inclusive.

You are still asked to sign for food and drink, even if you ordered via the app. There is also a space to leave a tip. The total tips appear on your final bill. I have a feeling that many with ultra all-inclusive leave nothing. We tended to tip €3 for drinks and lunch at the beach, €5 in the fine-dining restaurants and another €5 per day in the main bar. No idea if that was stingy or generous.

I can’t understand why anyone would choose not to add ultra all-inclusive – drinks are expensive and it isn’t as if there is a local restaurant within walking distance.

There is a shop within the hotel that sells snacks, alcohol, swimwear, cosmetics, sunscreen and inflatables.

Aegean Main Restaurant

We didn’t make a reservation for our first night and headed to the Aegean main restaurant. We sat on the outside terrace. Drinks are served at the table and there is also an al la carte menu. The staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

The buffet was sumptuous, with plenty of delicious items to choose from.

Breakfast is also served in the main restaurant. Good coffee, fresh juice and bottled water brought to your table. The buffet extensive, plus an omelette station that also provided fried and poached eggs.

And great to have sparkling wine with breakfast.

Asia and Thalassa

Asia (Asian Fusion) and Thalassa (Mediterranean) are al fresco, fine-dining restaurants. Both have a beautiful poolside setting – pool is decorative only and not for swimming.

Asia seems to be the most popular, although we preferred Thalassa.

We really liked the starter dishes in Asia:

A lovely Sea Food Tom Yum soup.

Sashimi plate. Fresh and amazing – as good as you’d find anywhere..

We visited Thalassa on four nights and everything was delicious.

Red Sea Bream Carpaccio. Raw marinated in citrus jus, fish roe, herbs.

Octopus.

Grilled red sea bream. Sweet potato purée, grilled asparagus, lemon butter sauce.

Slow Cooked Lamb. Wrapped in mushrooms and cabbage, grilled onion, tomato yoghurt sauce.

Other Restaurants

Prestigio à la carte – Italian

Lachania à la carte – Greek

Grill Corner à la carte – Greek

These sit below the Aegean Main Restaurant.

None of these restaurants have a strong theme, although all offer a different menu. On one occasion, we tried Lachania for dinner and it was very average compared to Asia and Thalasa.

For lunch, we were happy to order food direct to our beach sunbeds.

I can only only guess that Prestigio, Lachania and Grill Corner are aimed at those who staying longer than a week who want variety.

Beach

The beach is private and has plenty of comfortable sun beds with beach umbrellas. The sand is a mix of small stones and sand. The entrance to the sea, quite rocky. Wear beach swimming shoes. This isn’t a Caribbean beach, but the sea was clear and warm enough for swimming in October.

Towels are provided at the beach bar.

The hotel wi-fi works fine on the beach and that makes it easy to order lunch from your sunbed. Delivery is sometimes slow, so make your order 30 minutes before you actually want it!

Thalasso Spa

Access to the hydrotherapy pool and sauna in the spa is free for ultra all-inclusive guests.  The spa pool is beautiful, the salt water 27°C and there are plenty of thalasso therapy jets to play with. The pool was never busy when we visited.

There are various treatments available, including massages, but all are at extra cost.

Towels are provided. We didn’t use the sauna.

Main Bar

The main bar sits on the floor above the main restaurant. There is a large open-air terrace and plenty of seats inside.

The bar is also the location for evening entertainment. Don’t expect lavish shows, but the entertainment is mostly good quality.

Pools and Pool Bar

The pools are stunning, with plenty of sunbeds from where you can order food and drinks. The water was colder than the sea in October and so we didn’t use them.

There isn’t any loud music blasting, or some animation team shouting over a loudspeaker. Don’t expect any foam parties. It’s just peaceful.

The pool bar was quiet and served similar food and drinks as the beach bar.

The pools are beautifully illuminated at night.

Kid’s Club

The kid’s club looked nice.

And near the main restaurant, there was a small theatre that showed kid’s movies after dark.

Check Out Experience

The hotel reception were friendly although required €50 for a late checkout until 2.30pm. This was disappointing as the same late checkout on our previous stay was free. Guest can also have lunch on the departure day.

One odd episode was when we came to pay the bill and were asked if we’d like to add 10% tip for the hotel services. That’s quite a substantial amount and something I’ve never been asked before. We’d tipped throughout our stay and so  I declined to add the tip.

Bugs

There were no mosquitoes and I wasn’t bitten. I saw one wasp one time. I didn’t see a single cockroach. No spiders. Just a few small flies.

Overall

The Atrium Prestige Resort is amazing. The architecture is beautiful, everywhere is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and professional, the food delicious and the ultra all-inclusive plan really is ultra.

If you want a peaceful, luxury, beachside holiday then look no further.
